Ready to go back to Key West:
7 airports, 5 airplanes, 3 boats, 4 hotel rooms, 1 rental car, 1 rental bike, first name basis with bouncers and bartenders, making friends with the locals, encounters with the U.S. Coast Guard, warm sunny days on the beach= a fantastically relaxing trip to Key West. I’m ready to plan my next trip!

I’m coming down with what will probably be an epic sinus/head cold after a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Will this impeded my planned NYE in NYC? Only time (and my immune system) will tell.

How To Live in New York City →
teresawu:
(via theotherjen:thoughtcatalog)
Move here when you’re 18 or 22, maybe even 24. Come from somewhere else-the north, south, west, Xanadu- and come to realize that everyone living in New York is a transplant. Even the ones who grew up on the Upper East Side end up moving into a place downtown, which, as you’ll soon discover, is like moving to a different city.
Discover the cruel and...

Reason #80298 I love technology
Growing up with and having a twin sister has a bajillion benefits. Like tonight, Molly text messaged me a picture of her outfit asking what I thought of it. I’ve done the same to her, via text and video chat. Being that I live alone, it’s nice to be able to get a second opnion on an outfit that I may not be 100% sure about.
Oh technology, thanks for saving the day.

random thought while heating up lasagna
Sometimes I can’t believe that I live alone. I like my apt and living along, I’m just often struck with the fact that I’m solely repsponsible for my survival here in the city. In the course of two weeks back in June, my life took a pleasantly unexpected and dramatic shift from living in the wealthy Washington D.C. suburbs with my ‘rents without having any personal expenses,...

When a Facebook wall post just isn't enough →
“Sears, Starbucks, others offer a chance to give gifts to online friends.”
My kinda-sorta-holiday-gift-goal for this year is to buy someone a gift via Facebook. The article gives light to some cool initiatives happening with retailers and their Facebook pages during the holidays.
That being said, I agree with this quote from the article:
“Susan Ehrlich, senior vice president...

Words Change Reality →
The 19th century Swiss linguist Ferdinand de Saussure also explored the power of words. By comparing languages, he showed how the words available in our native language affect the way we perceive reality. For example, in English, we have the words “river” and “stream.” In the French language, “fleuve” and “rivière.”
The words in English differ on the basis of size – a river is larger than a...
